Mounting Icons.

Hello all, I have a question.

So how does one mount a printed icon on wood so that it almost looks like a real, painted icon? A step by step guide would be appreciated

I remember my mother would put what seemed like a million coats of polyurethane on pictures she had pasted on wood. I think the technique is called decoupage. You might want to try a test picture first to see if it's what you're looking for.
