I want to switch to a "all vegan" diet, excluding eggs, milk, cheese etc, anything from animals; Do I need supplements? I recall a nutritionist saying on tv that you need: + spirulina + ?" a marine algae" because they offer some very special proteins . I don't recall the details very well, and I hope you can help me...

Welcome!
I went looking for information on spirulina and found most information coming from people selling it - but Livestrong seems to have some balance info: http://www.livestrong.com/article/38...uld-i-consume/ - so for some this may be a good supplement. This seems to be a good resource for all things vegan: http://www.veganoutreach.org/whyvegan/health.html On a personal note - I have been seeing a dietitian and I have been trying to increase exercise (I sit behind a computer ALL day) and it was recommended that I add HMB - found a vegan version - I had been loosing more muscle than fat - http://www.rockwellnutrition.com/HMB...sulations.html - my husband and I also use Sublingual B-12 http://www.amazon.com/Deva-Vegan-Vit.../dp/B001GAOHTS Bless you!
