Passover Discrepancy
I was reading Tim Staples post on Passover Discrepancy. Some saying that the Last Supper was the Preparation of the Passover, yet when Jesus was being crucified it was also called the preparation of the Passover.
Of course, I like all Christians, know that the Bible has no discrepancies. It is just a matter of coming to the correct understanding, so that all scriptural contradictions are resolved and unified and no scripture is ignored in order to come to true conclusions.
The Last Supper on the 14th of Nissan was the first day of seven days of Unleavened Bread. The apparent confusion is that it is not realized that each day began at 6 p.m. and as usual each day lasts 24 hours. There was no lamb eaten at the Last Supper because the lamb had to be killed on the 14th of Nissan between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. Also, when Jesus sent Judas out after the meal was finished, the other disciples thought Jesus has sent Judas to buy the lamb for the High Sabbath, when the Passover Feast was to be eaten.
If the Last Supper started at 6 p.m. the hours of 3 to 6 prior would have been the 13th of Nassan. The 13th of Nissan was the 4th day the lamb was to be observed to be sure it was without spot or blemish.
But 21 hours after the Last Supper between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m., it was still the same day for the Jews, the 14th of Nissan and the day for the preparation of the lamb. The Jewish day began 6 hours ahead of the Gentile. Thus, the Last Supper and the Crucifixion were two different days for the Gentiles.
