Re: I'm looking for 'clean' fiction of any type
I love all of the "Joshua" books by Fr. Joesph Grizone.

Thank you, I will look into these. First I've heard of them. Can you tell us a bit more about the books/author?

Re: I'm looking for 'clean' fiction of any type
He is a retired Catholic priest. The books are about a very gentle and kind version of Jesus who comes into our modern world and makes things better. I enjoy them very much.

Re: I'm looking for 'clean' fiction of any type
Hello,
It has been a couple of years but I still remember them, Ted Dekker's "The Circle Series":
Black
Red
White
The trilogy was pretty awesome!
Enjoy.

Re: I'm looking for 'clean' fiction of any type
A few random gleanings from far too many years of reading everything I stumbled over: - C.S. Lewis (Narnia and his Ransom or 'Space' trilogy and the myth-based Till We Have Faces)
- G.K. Chesterton (his Father Brown series and his other novels, e.g. The Man Who Was Thursday)
- J.R.R. Tolkein
- Leonard Wibberley: two novels set at the beginning of Christianity: The Centurion and The Testament of Theophilus (also titled The Seven Hills); a series of mystery novels, as Leonard Holton, about Father Joseph Bredder; five satirical and hilarious novels about the Duchy of Grand Fenwick (the "Mouse") - The Mouse That Roared, Beware of the Mouse, The Mouse on the Moon, The Mouse on Wall Street, and The Mouse that Saved the West; four historical novels about Thomas Jefferson; and a multitude of novels--juveniles and non-juveniles--under his own name and as Leonard Holton, Christopher Webb and Patrick O'Connor.
- Evelyn Waugh
- Morris West, The Shoes of the Fisherman and several other novels set in the Vatican
- Ralph Matthew McInerny - Father Dowling mysteries
- Ellis Peters (the linguist-scholar Edith Pargeter) - the Brother Cadfael novels
- Peter Tremayne (historian, literary biographer, and novelist Peter Berresford Ellis) - the Sister Fidelma novels
I especially recommend Wibberley's The Centurion.

thanks, I like your words..."far too many years...". This is a great list, I have read some of these myself, but others look very interesting - especially the last the Sister Fidelma novels, must see if I can find them.
There is a thread here on CAF that discusses his books. I noticed that there is some controversy regarding historical details regarding marriage etc , but not because of the writing having any immoral content.
