Question Where did the Impurity Addiction support group go?

The (currently invalid) link to it is in my sig. Where did it go? Was it deleted just like that?

It's possible they deleted it due to inactivity. There were probably a lot of dead groups. This forum system will be replaced with new software eventually which might not even have groups, so I wouldn't get too invested in them anyways.

It will be missed by me. I think that it is a reminder that much of what is online is fleeting.

It was most definitely not inactive. It had a number of regular participants. My guess would be that an administrator deemed the content to be inappropriate for the Catholic Answers forums, although participants always seemed to avoid harsh language or overly detailed descriptions. It would be nice to know for sure. Maybe those who participated can private message one another and find another website to continue the conversation.

I just found out that each group has to have an administrator. It occurs to me that the group could have been deleted if the administrator's account was deleted for some reason, or if the group administrator chose to delete the group.

However, starting new groups is pretty easy. I have started a new one at http://forums.catholic.com/group.php?groupid=1916 for those who are interested in supporting one another in leading a more chaste life.

I never knew there was one.

Nope, that can't be it, because Meet and Talk and talk and talk is also gone. I noticed it disappeared when I clicked on the wrong group yesterday that the list of top groups had changed.

From what I recall when the other group I was part of disappeared, if the owner gets suspended or banned, the group goes with it, which sucks when your group has a long history. I don't know who the Owner if the group was, so I can't tell you if that was the case.

It's also possible the Group Owner closed it. I don't know who the owner of the group was, so I can't tell you.

Also, CAF I believe (Don't quote me on this, I might be wrong) made a statement that Groups will no longer exist when the forum software gets upgraded this year, it's possible that they've started to close some.

There used to be more interest in the Groups when there was a "Latest Group Posts" sidebar right here on the Forums page. It really helped catch the interest of current and potential members of the groups. I started quite a few groups, but when groups began dwindling, I first tried to boost them, then I finally gave up.
