New US Bishops: Rockville Centre, NY
This morning the Holy See announced the decision of Pope Benedict XVI to name two new Auxiliary Bishops for the diocese of Rockville Centre, New York.
They are: Bishop-elect Nelson J. Perez (priest of Philadelphia) and Bishop-elect Robert J. Brennan (priest of Rockville Centre).

Re: New US Bishops: Rockville Centre, NY
Msgr Perez is currently pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
He grew up in New Jersey, but taught school in Puerto Rico before entering the seminary. He has extensive experience with Hispanic ministry, including being the co-founder of the Catholic Institute for Evangelization, a archdiocesan program which promotes the spiritual growth of Hispanic adults. In 1998, he was named Chaplain to His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, with the title of Monsignor. In 2009, he was named a Prelate of Honor by Pope Benedict XVI.

Re: New US Bishops: Rockville Centre, NY
Information on Msgr Brennan is a little harder to find, but he has been serving as vicar-general (whatever that is) of his diocese, as well as pastor of Saint Mary of the Isle parish in Long Beach, New York.

Re: New US Bishops: Rockville Centre, NY
This is my diocese. I never heard of Fr. Brennan. Unfortunately it's a mixed bag in Rockville Centre. Being in NY there is a strong liberal presence. Although under this Bishop priests who promote orthodoxy have nothing to fear.
