For a friend to be able to return to the Church...
I just spoke with a gal who was raised Catholic - has been away from the Church for some time - is married outside the Church (Methodist husband) - and asked me about the annulment process as she would like to get married in the Church.
I would say that her catechesis and so forth is not great...But we know the Spirit can move in subtle and quiet ways. He can draw us back to the sacraments by many paths.
Anyway - I shared what I knew about the situation with her husband (who was previously married but civilly only so far as I know). Explained that in all likelihood this is a "defect of form" type case and that it could likely be handled relatively quickly.
I'm going to try to get her a "name and number" of someone who knows these things and hopefully this can start her on the road to come fully home to the Church.
So - a quick prayer would be appreciated...
Peace
James

Re: For a friend to be able to return to the Church...
Praying - in hopes for the Holy Spirit to descend upon this matter and have fallen Catholics return to the faith.
Glory be to the Father,
Who by His almighty power and love created me,
making me in the image and likeness of God.
Glory be to the Son,
Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell,
and opened for me the gates of heaven.
Glory be to the Holy Spirit,
Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism,
and continues to sanctify me
by the graces I receive daily from His bounty.
Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity,
now and forever.
Amen.

Dear Lord, may the response of JRKH's friend and her husband to Your call bring them peace and joy. May they meet people who will support and encourage them as they pursue an annulment. May this journey of theirs come to a successful conclusion which reflects Your glory. Amen.
