Default Heart of Mary, Heart of Jesus

One Catholic book stated:
By uniting our hearts to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we are brought into intimate contact and union with the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

It would be difficult to imagine a closer union with Jesus than through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. After all, the first place the incarnate Jesus resided, the first tabernacle if you will, was beneath Mary's heart. What a great mother we are given as the adopted sons and daughters of God!

As shocking as this concept appears to "bible Christians", it is truly difficult to imagine a purer love of Christ than that possessed by the only one who is both disciple and mother. It runs afoul of "Me and Jesus" theology.

And here I thought that Catholics were the original "bible Christians!"

Padre Pio was once asked by one of his spiritual sons, "Father, teach me a short cut to reach God."

The great Saint replied, "The short cut is the Virgin."
