Default I can't get myself to be merciful

Hi,

I am really struggling with mercy right now. I cannot show any mercy or forgiveness to someone, because they just keep doing the same things over and over again, and they have no mercy on anyone else. Pray that they learn mercy, and that I learn mercy, but I don't think it is a good idea for us to have any contact from now on. I don't see myself speaking to them ever again.

Joshua

Forgivness and mercy are two of our most important virtues as Christians. Pray to God and ask Him to take the anger and hatred from your heart. I know it's hard, but we are called on to be strong, especially if you have been wronged personally by someone close to you. I know exactly how you feel. Time and prayer will help if you let it. I will pray for you.

Lord, please help Joshua to will good things in this life and in the next for his persecutor, despite the pain, injury and frustration he may be feeling. Help him to forgive his persecutor from the bottom of his heart. May he look upon his persecutor with the compassion he has towards children and the mentally ill for his persecutor really does not know what he/she is doing, even if it appears he/she does. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.
