Self sabotage

Hi everyone,

I know that a lot of modern day psychologist would have lots to say about how people self-sabotage. I am wondering if the bible has anything to say about it. How would a Catholic go about stopping it

What do you mean specifically by "self sabotage"?

I don't know that the Bible speaks directly to this but I am equally sure that "Proverbs" and "Wisdom" likely cover the various behaviors spoken of in the article.

As to dealing with these issues and stopping the behavior, the Catholic would begin with prayer for enlightenment, recognition and clarification of the problem, more prayer - for courage, intercession etc., setting forth disciplinary goals (not eating after a certain time, committing to doing specific tasks etc.), More prayer, Offering up the Praising God for each success...repeat...

In short the Catholic would begin by seeking to grow in Holiness (Sanctification) and that growth would naturally result in becoming convicted in those areas that are problematic. God is loving but firm in this way...He WILL enlighten us if we ask...We may not want to hear it...It may take some time before we have the courage to act...but He will tell us...
