What to do to have complete trust in God
Like the majority of the world, I'm struggling with the financial situation out there. It's also particularly difficult for a young adult looking for their first job. It almost feels hopeless when school fees are rising and you tack in a number of expenses (expected and unexpected as well). I'm young and I haven't experienced the kind of sufferings that most people deal with everyday. I pray and try to figure what to improve my situation but sometimes, I feel like I'm going nowhere and really, I should be apologizing to God for things that I failed to do.
I reread the story of Job and I'm wondering what do you guys do to have complete trust in God to provide you with what you need? I know that everybody struggles with that but there must be some baby steps I could take.
So far, I'm doing a Sacred Heart devotion to see if it could help improve my relationship with God.

Re: What to do to have complete trust in God
Praying for something is always difficult. Especially since our wants (sometimes even our needs) are not what God has in store for us.
I think you're on the right track with your devotion to the Sacred Heart. If you want, you can also pray novenas to your favorite saint/s. After I pray, I just say the words: Lord, Your will be done. I say this to remind myself that it's God's call whether or not to give me what I prayed for. But keep praying. I will pray for you too.
God bless.

Re: What to do to have complete trust in God
I suggest you pray for trust and read the Holy Bible. Read about how merciful God is to his children who obey him. He is always faithful. Peace!

Re: What to do to have complete trust in God
Pray to God, and also ask for Saints' intercession. They are all great and compassionate. Mother Mary, St. Joseph, St. Anthony, St. Jude...... You can ask help from all of them.
Here is a link of all different novena prayers.

St. Faustina's mantra was "Jesus, I trust in you". Ask St. Faustina to pray for you to have perfect trust in God.

Re: What to do to have complete trust in God
I think the amount of trust we have in God is proportionate to the degree we believe in who God is.
As God is a good and eternal, how much do we actually believe that everything in life is for our good and not our misfortune? If God has put good desires in us (perhaps towards a vocation) with obstacles on the way, how much do we actually believe that He will lead us there despite the trials? For Jesus Christ has endured the worst suffering and was resurrected, how much do we believe that we will be "resurrected" in time as well? If life on this world is nothing but misery and if we have faith and do good works, how much do we believe in Jesus's teaching in heaven, the eternal place of joy, happiness, and peace?
Trust, like love, is an act of will and with grace, hopefully we will attain true trust and true love.
Praying for your trials :]

First, mortify your ideas that you can out-think God. The last few chapters of Job is a good place to start, and you've done that. Next try on these two questions: 1) Is God's will being done on earth? and 2) Is the Holy Spirit actually guiding us in all things? Of course you have to answer both questions with "yes." Remembering these can build trust, even "fake it till you make it" which is a perfectly valid form of prayer, I'd say. You may not control the future or even the present, but you can bask in the peace and love of Jesus, for the belief and asking, as you go through the ups, downs, ins and outs of every day.
How? Be thankful for everything jumps to my mind. Really, the meal blessing works for anything and everything, even a moment of peace we can give thanks. This prays to God, helps us convert humiliation into humility via grateful heart, and meanwhile we tell ourselves what we want our minds to do for us. So the mind hears it from us, then from wherever God takes us next.
Refuse to have a bad day. A bad moment, a bad hour, but much more than that unless something is unfolding right during that time can become excessive.
Then after the bad hours, you may optionally look back and reflect what it was about yourself that got you through, and how you now have more experience for future challenges. You can even think how you wish you would have responded, which in turn becomes your prayer and your self-think all at once. This is a double whammy on anxious thoughts.
Tell your anxieties to go into pause mode when you wish to have time apart from them. For example, give them a fixed break, like "for the next hour I'm going to enjoy my meal with my friends. Worries of tomorrow will have to wait until after this meal." Or even a conditional break, like, "if I get done with this assignment before 9 I'll make a list of what I need before Friday."
Once I pawned a nearly new air stapler for $15 to buy milk and gas for the kids the next morning for breakfast and shuttle to school. I just couldn't scratch up any change or anything, and you know it was not that bad. I just did it, then a few days later when I had money got the stapler back for the pawn price plus interest. I almost enjoyed it because it gave me the experience of going through what a lot of people have gone through before me.
Another issue is hope. If you are running short on hope, it can make it a lot rougher.

Re: What to do to have complete trust in God
+JMJ+ I am not telling you, "You believe too much in your own wretchedness." We are much more wretched than we ever realize. But I am telling you, "You do not believe enough in merciful love."
We must have confidence, not in spite of our miseries, but because of them, since it is misery which attracts mercy.
Oh, this word, mercy — misericordia — "miseris cor dare," a heart which gives itself to the miserable, a Heart which nourishes itself on miseries by consuming them. Meditate on this word.
