Avatar disappeared!

My avatar is no longer showing! Is anyone else having this problem?

Were you using one of the stock avatars which CAF keeps on its site, or were you using a custom avatar which you uploaded?

This happened to me, months ago. It's no longer an issue, but it bothered me at the time.

The avatar was custom; it was a stained glass window of Our Lady of Lourdes. One day it disappeared and was replaced with the question mark. When I tried to edit my profile, I was not given the option of a custom avatar. Since then I've noticed that I do have that option, which I use, uh, frequently.

As a Regular Member, you have earned the privilege of a custom avatar.

Junior Members are able to use the stock avatars, but not upload their own custom avatar.

Well, that is how it how it is supposed to be. Sometimes a glitch happens which allows Junior Members (or even Trial Members) to upload a custom avatar. Unfortunately, the automatic error correction software eventually finds the glitch, and "corrects" the avatars of everyone benefited from the glitch.

I can see how this can be very annoying, especially since it happens without notice or explanation.

Oh, I see. it was a custom avatar of a Byzantine icon. It was appearing for a while and now disappeared. I guess since I'm a Junior Member it was a glitch. Thanks!b
