It goes something like if you take what you like and reject what you don't like then it's not faith that you believe in but yourself.

I think it's either Archbishop Fulton Sheen or G K Chesterton who said it.

Chesterton has too many zingers to number. One of my favorites goes something like, "orthodoxy has not been tried and found wanting, it has been found difficult and therefore not tried."
