Yep, just opened about 14 months ago, so in Church-time it's brand new. Very beautiful too.

Hello I'm 16 and currently live in the south of england in the Diocese of Portsmouth.
I came on this forum for two main purposes 1) Because I'm struggling abit with my faith and 2) Bring happiness and knowledge to others.

I also want to find some catholic friends around the same age as me ( I'd prefer it to be near my diocese, but I don't mind if they are overseas), as I feel there isn't as much dedicated catholic teenagers.

Per your request to share some info, I am a Catholic young lady from Maryland, USA, who is currently taking school courses from home. I have a great interest in British history/culture, as well as folk and classical music, reading, writing, collecting pretty things, and watching classic movies. My favorite type of films are period pieces with happy or inspiring endings. I also run a blog; the link to it will appear pasted with my signature at the bottom!

That's neat that you live in the Portsmouth area. Have you ever been to any of the Navy/Marines sites there? I would love to be able to see Nelson's Victory. Also, it would be interesting to visit the Royal Marines museum. I've called them before for historical information to use in a novel I'm writing.

Indeed, sometimes it's hard to find young people who are actually fervent in their faith. But they're out there, on this site and beyond. What are some of your interests/hobbies?

I'm going to be near Bournemouth to visit some friends in a couple of weeks, not to far from you! If you have any questions regarding the Faith do not hesitate to ask, the knowledgeable Apologists (I hesitate to call them Theologians but I do not doubt there are Theologians here!) among us have been a great help! I have to note my Professors (Greek Orthodox and Latin Cathoic) have been a great hep as well

I also know what you mean about devout Catholic teenagers, however for Britain I recommend you get in contact with the FSSP (Fr DeMallory is the Superior and he's based in Reading) and Opus Dei (who are all over the Country) as they have a great youth base. I actually met the Juventutem and Opus Dei contingencies that went to World Youth Day, they were a great bunch of Youth aged 18-24 very devout!
