Default Divine Mercy Chaplet

Hello, just curious if anyone else prays the Divine Mercy Chaplet the way I do. Often, in each decade, I will think of a certain person. Usually the first decade thinking about my dad, second decade for my mom, etc. Both of whom are still living. Usually I'll reserve one decade for myself, to ask for God's mercy.

Other times I will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet novena.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

ME ME ME ME ME ME!!! I do that with the rosary as well. I remember my deceased grandmother, people in purgatory, and other random people that come to my mind. I think this is an awesome thing to do people. I love the divine mercy chaplet. I feel bad though because when I feel mentally exhausted I will pray the divine mercy chaplet instead of the rosary because I don't have to immerse my self into the mysteries whereas with the other I just say "for the sake of his sorrowful passion..."

What a wonderful way to pray the chaplet. I may try that tomorrow. I general focus on the passion, the suffering, the 5 wounds. Then again I do think and give thanks for my wife. I also ask for forgiveness of my past sins. What you do is so uplifting in spirit.

Bless You!

I used to do it the same way, a decade for each intention. Because I pray it each day at 3:00 and have for a few years now, I started getting distracted by the different intentions. I recently changed it by praying for one intention each day for the whole chaplet, and one extra decade for the conversion of my children. I always include that extra decade because it's the most important intention in my heart.

On Sunday, we always go to church early to pray the morning prayers before Mass. There are about a dozen or so parishioners that do this together on Sunday mornings. After the morning prayers, there's about 20 minutes left before Mass begins so rather than pray the Divine Mercy at 3:00 I pray it before Jesus in the Tabernacle. With this Chaplet, I pray an intention for each decade... usually for priests, souls in purgatory that are buried beneath the Church, the Church, the parishioners... usually things related to the Church herself.

It works for me

I do this with the Rosary - an intention with each decade. With the Divine Mercy, I have a specific intention each day I pray it.
