What did my priest mean?

I am dealing with the death of a son from a drug overdose. My priest told me that I don’t need to intercede nor pray for my son now, that my son is interceding and praying for me.

I don’t understand this. I hope Father that is here can explain this comment to me.

Dear friend,

I haven't the faintest idea why your priest said that. It doesn't make any sense to me. By all means, pray for your son--and also for those who sold them to him. I will pray also.
