Excellent choice! And a terrific movie to boot. It is, however, a four-hankie movie. Cried my eyes out in the theatre during Picket's Charge...

Oh, absolutely. I forgot about that one!

OP, if you ever saw Gladiator, the theme during the end credits is beautiful and a bit sorrowful. There's a full Celtic version on Itunes if you want to preview it.

The theme music from Somewhere in Time (1980) - also a clean movie, and the flute rendition is beautiful

And the music from Ever After is quite pretty - also a clean "Cinderella" movie.

Personally I believed the film music remained fantastic when it passed to Elliot Goldenthal(I loved his "theme from Batman Forever", it's one of the most underrated Batman themes), but too bad what we saw on screen didn't.

I liked the soundtrack in the movie about Mother Teresa too, that was great!

AND, the King's Speech, another excellent one.

I'll try The Colour Purple and Schindler's List, and the two other classics suggested!
Oh no, the first sentence after "everyone" was something I had copied and never realised I had pasted

Good suggestions.
