Saints for students
Is there a patron saint of students and studies? I've heard St Joseph of Cupertino, St Anthony are good. Found St. John Cantius in my googling. If anyone has any stories or knows of a saint to intercede for my studies I'd love to hear, thanks

Re: Saints for students
You might consider St Thomas Aquinas, who was called the "Dumb Ox". He's one of the patron saint for students.
Quote:
|
Despite his imposing large build, St. Thomas remained devotedly humble. His peers at the University of Paris referred to him as the “dumb ox,” because of his size and meek humbleness to present his knowledge in front of others. However, after a brilliant defense of a difficult thesis in class, his teacher exclaimed, “We call this young man a dumb ox, but his bellowing in doctrine will one day resound throughout the world.”

Re: Saints for students
For me personally, as a student my patron saint is St. Expeditus, the patron saint of procrastinators.

Re: Saints for students
St. Joseph Cupertino was an idiot. He couldn't learn anything and therefore as an adult couldn't hold a job. So they eventually made him the doorman to the local church. (How can you screw up holding the doors open for people?) Anyways he wanted to become a priest, but didn't know any theology. However he has great devotion to Mary and knew everything about her. When the examiner from the seminary came he began the oral exam on Mary. He was so impressed with Joseph's answers, he ended the exam there and gave his recomendation.
So St. Joseph Cupertino isn't the saint of students. He's the saint for taking tests.
St. John Vianny had a similar sitution. In his seminary exam he botch the Latin so badly the examiner said "you sir are a complete ***." To which John replied "if God could allow Sapson to slay 10000 Philistines with the jawbone. Imagine what he could do with a whole one." The examiner passed him.
