Default Question for owners of Blessed Be God

I am looking for a new prayer book.

For years I used the Handbook of Prayers from Midwest Theological Forum, but I gave it to a religiously indifferent friend of mine when she was in crisis (prayers please as she is now on her journey to Rome with private instruction from a priest).

Since purchasing my original Handbook, I've begun attending the EF mass. I was thinking a prayerbook geared toward the EF may me more appropriate since I enjoy praying prayers from mass and it isn't always possible to bring a missal everywhere. Blessed Be God seems like a good choice since it contains both prayers and EF Sunday mass parts.

My question is in regard to content of the book. There are specific prayers I'm wanting to make sure are available in Blessed Be God before I make a $30.00 purchase.

I've done a half hour of googling and just can't find the an answer to my question.

Does Blessed Be God contain the following prayers?
- Morning Offering
- Consecration to the Blessed Virgin
- Acts of Faith, Hope, & Love (charity)
- Psalm 50 (51) The Miserere
- Prayer for Vocation
- Prayer for the Pope
- The 6 Public Litanies (or at least Saints, Sacred Heart, & St. Joseph)
- The Angelus & Regina Caeli
- Examination of Conscience

Thank you in advance. I really can't afford to drop money on two prayer books when one will eventually become a favorite.

Come on now. Its a popular book. Someone on this forum must have it. My local bookstore doesn't stock it so I can't get my hands on one to check for myself.

I use this book and yes, it has all of those prayers. The only drawback I can see is that there is no Latin versions of the prayers - they are all in English. The Ordinary of the Mass has the Latin though. It is really very detailed and has prayers for every occasion.

I have this book and yes it contains most of what you asked about. The prayer for vocations is the prayer for vocations to the priesthood. The litanies contained in the book are the following... litany for the dying, litany of the Blessed Virgin, litany of the Holy Name, litany of the Sacred Heart, litany of St. Joseph and the litany of the Saints.

I purchased mine from Fraternity Publications (FSSP) for about $34 dollars. I usually place my orders with them over the phone and within 2 or 3 days receive my items. I highly recommend them. Where are you purchasing your Blessed Be God prayerbook from?

God bless

Thank you both for your answers. $30.00 is a lot for me right now, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be disappointed for going for this book over another copy of my beloved Handbook of Prayers.

I don't know where I'll get it from. Everyone seems to have it for the same price so Fraternity Publications seems like a good choice.

You won't be disappointed. I found mine at a Thrift Shop for $5.00.

I know what its like for things to be tight financially. Before I got my disability I had to be content with reading the writings of the saints in pdf form on my computer and finding prayers through the net. So I definitely can sympathize with you.

Things will improve for you God willing.

God bless
