Err...not at all. I'm "privy" to news (and old news at that).

I wasn't trying to say that he'll never return, only that he has thus far ignored direction to do so.

Look, I really have nothing invested in this. Yes, it's an old article; yes, he seems to have disappeared since there's been no news about him in the past year; no, I don't know what has happened since then. Some folks here seemed to have no idea who he was or why anyone would ask after his jacket, of all things. If you have some information you'd like to share, then go ahead, by all means. All I did was save folks the extra step of Googling him.

As he has left public ministry, resigned from the priesthood, and will not return to his society, I don't think that the jacket isn't really that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. As other have said, we should pray for his reconciliation.

He didn't resign from the priesthood,he resigned his priestly ministry,in obedience to his superior at S.O.L.T. He was told by the founder of S.O.L.T. to preach publicly and to make his own money to support himself and the society. And I think he is still a member of S.O.L.T. but he has not returned to the home office in Texas because he would not be treated justly by his superior, who made charges against him publicly. He would have had to remain silent about the charges against him, drop his lawsuit against the woman who accused him,and perhaps never get a chance to defend himself judicially in the Church.

I read the column and I totally disagree with it. EWTN is not Catholicism gone wrong. EWTN is a good and orthodox Catholic television channel. Why anyone would say it is "Catholicism gone wrong" I don't know unless they have some sort of hidden agenda or something.
That said, as for (Fr.) John Corapi, I do hope and pray that he reconciles with his superiors. Hopefully he can go back to being Fr. John Corapi again in the future instead of just John Corapi.

Re: John Corapi's Harley Davidson jacket
This thread is so full of misinformation! Corapi did indeed resign from SOLT. SOLT demanded that Corapi return to the Order in Texas and Corapi publicly refused. He resigned from public ministry as a priest, however even his superior at SOLT was unsure what he meant by that. They asked him to reconsider and said if he did not, then they would assist him in laicization.
Most recent news from locals in his home town are that he is seen now and then, out and about with the woman who shares his residence (girlfriend or personal assistant or "that blonde lady" - the term used varies by the person reporting). But it is confirmed that he is still living in Kalispell MT, still riding his Harley and his boats.
His lawsuit against one of his accusers (the one who wrote the letter) has not been pursued by him, and it is sitting on the Judge's desk for dismissal. That can be confirmed by calling the county court house.
Very most recent news from someone "supposedly" close to the situation is that Corapi has been in intermittent and rare contact with SOLT, has continued to maintain disobedience to his order, and has some health issues, which he has always mentioned in his talks. This last bit came from a facebook page of Corapi supporters, not foes, by the way.
