first opus dei recollection. questions please?

Hi friends in Christ!

I went to my first opus dei evening of recollection. It rocked. There were women of all ages. what an awesome experience. All Catholics should try to go if they can. I learned so much in one night. I wish it was every week. I need to brush up on my Catholicism though. 1. How am I gonna learn to sing in Latin? 2. What is a numerarey? 3. I must be a bad Catholic because I did not know every Friday we are suppose to do penance. Why?

You're not a bad Catholic for not realizing that we're supposed to do penance every Friday. The church has failed you in not making that teaching clear. Now you do know, so you can choose to do with that knowledge what you will.

Numeraries are members of Opus Dei who pledge to remain celibate and generally live in Opus Dei houses.

I'm glad you liked it! I haven't been in months, but I've really found the reflections to be helpful to my spiritual life in the past.
