Book recommendations regarding the life of Saint Charbel

I was hoping some of you could give me some good book recommendations regarding the life and history of this saint. My interest was piqued after seeing a movie about him.

Probably the best is the little book entitled "The Hermit of Lebanon - Father Sharbel" by the late Msgr Joseph Eid. It was originally published in 1952 (I think) and while it is long out-of-print, a copy could be available on Amazon or elsewhere. I'll never part with mine.

Go to the website Monastery of Saint Maron - Annaya. This is where Saint Charbel's tomb is and the place of many miracles. You can get some background on the Saint. There is a guest book where you can ask for Saint Charbel's intercession.

Also search for Father Hanna Skander. He has written books on Saint Sharbel. He is a priest at a Maronite monastery in France. There should be a book on the life of Saint Charbel coming out soon that is being translated from Arabic to English. Some of the accounts of his life are amazing!

In the next month or so there should be a Facebook page called Saint Charbel USA. The goal of the individuals sponsoring the page is to make people in the U.S. more aware of his life, miracles, quotes, etc. There is also a book that has been translated from Arabic to English that is currently being edited for book and online publication.

Saint Sharbel - USA should be available on Facebook next week. The page is currently being constructed and will have a slide show, information about his life, upcoming movie events, etc. I am sure that you will find a lot of insightful information about this amazing Saint.

Here is a free word document on St. Charbel, its really good and is about 260 pages long. All you have to do is download it, I ran into it awhile ago when I was researching him. Hope this helps!

It appears the link on the Facebook page Saint Sharbel USA has the most recent version of the English translation of Father Hanna Skandar's book.
