The biters are already biting. How is this teaching them to emulate a behavior that they're already doing? As for the others, don't let them watch the punishment.

I just question whether we should try and teach kids that a behavior is not normal and not desired by doing it back to them. Especially when there are so many other ways to show them that isn't a good way to act.

Because when we do it back to them, they learn that it causes pain.
