On the other hand, there are eight total regularly-occurring canonically regular EF Masses in his diocese. Of course he can't prevent the EF from being celebrated, but it such a number likely has at least his blessing. Even for our standards that is quite a lot.
Some are freaking out and saying he denies the perpetual virginity of Mary. Personally I don't see that. He doesn't deny her virginity. He just said that it might not have been that Jesus "beamed out" of her; that is, he said it is entirely possible that a normal vaginal birth occurred. As far as I can tell, this does not deny any dogma or doctrine.
I do not like this Lib. Th. stuff, but overall I am ignoring that. Kung is outraged and that seems like a good enough sign to me.
Furthermore, Fr. Z worked for the Pont. Comm. Ecclesia Dei. He expressed confidence that the Prefect of the Holy Office does not do a lot past making sure the trains run on time. I don't really know, but Fr. Z usually calls these mundane sorts of things for what they are.
Overall I am not concerned.
