Default Christian Bale visits 'Dark Knight Rises' theater-shooting victims

The actor and his wife, Sibi Blazic, enjoyed bedside conversation with patients including Carey Rottman, shown above, as well as interactions with medical staff and first responders.
I have not posted a lead story in some weeks----but I just thought this deserved a big nod and shout-out:

Very nice and big-hearted of Bale to do this. God bless him and protect him, I must say. Hopefully maybe this will inspire other cast members to do the same thing.

Good way to do it, too.
Many who asked him to do this wanted him to visit the victims (especially children) in his Batman costume.
Sorry, but the last thing these poor people need is to be re-traumatized due to seeing another Batman coming to them.

Anyway, just thought this deserved a spot here. Comments welcome.

Throught the prayers of the Mother of God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.

I agree it was a nice gesture. However, I heard on the news that the victim who was shot in the eye and is still not out of the woods has no health insurance. His treatment will exceed $1 million. A national plea for donations is out and money is pouring in.

It just struck me that with all the millions that will be made on this movie plus the millions that the stars will make, perhaps they could cover all uninsured costs of the victims. I would hope that were I in a position of authority in the movie industry, I would make sure that these innocent victims who did nothing but attend one of my productions would not have to worry about finances.

Just my opinion.

Peace

Warner Bros, along with Legendary Pictures made a "substantial" contribution to the Aurora Shooting Victims Fund. The amount was not disclosed. The fund is at nearly 2 million dollars.
I haven't read anything about Warner Bros establishing a fund.

I heard this today. I thought it very cool of Christian Bale to go out of his way to provide some comfort to the victims of this tragedy.

One of the stipulations of Bale's visit, he wanted the media not to be notified. No one knew he and his wife were in Colorado, until people started tweeting.

Mr. Bale
