Re: "Pray for..whoever" What does it mean?
I was in a serious motorcycle accident, where I was thrown from the bike, landed on my back, broke four ribs, one in three places.
I am a practicing Catholic. I know all the prayers of the faithful, the rosary, the divine mercy.
BUT, when I was lying there in the emergency ward, and pain shot like a knife through me everytime I started to take a breath, no prayers could come out. All I could do is focus on an overhead lightbulb above my bed, and think... Jesus, I trust in you. I could not concentrate well, though, through the pain.
My husband, the driver of the motorcycle, fared better. He phoned his mom immediately, so that she could pray for me, and ask others for prayer.
Twenty minutes later, when I was wheeled into the x-rays, I suddenly, and consciously felt a warmth envelop me, like a warm blanket. It was that peaceful feeling that people say is beyond our understanding, except for the fact that I knew that people were praying for me. I began to have the grace to pray as well as endure the pain of moving onto the area where the xrays had to be taken.
The xray technician, after seeing the xrays was so compassionate. He told me how sorry he was that I was so hurt. I smiled at him and said, thank you. He said, I don't understand how you can smile right now. You must be in extreme pain. Yes, I am, I said, but I know that people are praying for me right now, because I can actually feel their prayers.
True story.
There's people right now in the hospital, in hospices, in accidents. Right now. We can pray for them. Right now. And I KNOW for a fact, they can feel God's Grace and Mercy and feel our prayers.
"Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen"
Jesus, I trust in you.
