Re: Is there salvation out of the Catholic Church? (Referring to Islam in particular)
Apologies.
I got a little frustrated with this discussion as my dad and grandparents are Muslim.

This is unfortunate. The God Christians worship is a triune God. If we can be honest, for once, the god the Jews and Muslims worship is not the one true God that Christians worship.
I loved/love Blessed Pope John Paul II, but this was one of many scandalous things the Holy Father did while serving as pope.

The God that is worshipped By Christians IS the same God as that worshipped by Muslims and Jews.
The difference is that christians have a greater understanding of God's nature and know that He is a Triune God.

That does not mean they will be saved.
Invincible ignorance does not include those who know about Christ and his Church but consciously reject them. Such people will not be saved.
Now if a Jew or Muslim actually desires to know more about Christ and his Church with a view to baptism but are prevented from doing so such a person could come under baptism of desire - explicit, but certainly not invincible ignorance.

I am bowing out at this point.
Apologies if I came across as abrupt in my earlier comments but I was merely attempting to clarify my understanding of Church Teaching on this matter.
I think this is possibly a touchy subject for me as I have family who are Muslim.
God Bless
