In his homily today, our priest really hit a bullseye on something I'm struggling with right now. He was talking about trusting that God will give us the guidance and direction that we need if we'll only ask, and - most importantly - be open to recognizing it. He said it may be something that jumps right out at you, or it may be something very subtle, but you have to open your heart to it so you can see it.
I'm really struggling with something like that right now, trying to decide if I want to pursue employment in a different region of the US. It would be a big move for me if the job came through, with no relocation assistance from the new company. I would also be moving to a new place where I know NOBODY, though I would have a sister about 3 hours away in a different state.
So I prayed for guidance, and asked God to put me where he wants me to be. I am absolutely open to following God on this, at least in my mind, but if I'm to be totally honest, I'm pretty scared about jumping off this cliff if the opportunity comes.
So how can I trust that it's God's direction if, in the end, I decide not to take this job if it's offered. How will I know if it's just me being too afraid to truly trust God?

I thanked Father today after mass for his homily, told him that he totally nailed it for me. And teared up as I said it. Poor Father Ken, he looked a bit startled. But it felt like God was really speaking through him to me.
@ Fr. Serpa - I would really love your thoughts on this if you have a moment. I'm honestly tying myself in knots over this.
Thanks for any advice or sharing of experience from other CAF members on this.
God bless.
