Default Eucharistic Miracle at Saint James Church in Dallas, TX

I just received an e-mail about a possible Eucharistic miracle in north Texas, but I can't make out the photo that was attached. I am usually pretty skeptical of these things, but this has got me intrigued. Does anyone know what is going on?

Here is what I have so far. I will also try to attach a photo. Does anyone know if this is legitmate? The photo quality is really poor, but does the image remind anyone of anything?

"Most of you know what a Eucharistic Miracle is, but for those who do not it is a rare occurrence when the host actually turns into the visible body and blood of Christ. Of course as Catholic we all (hopefully) believe that this occurs at Mass, but in rare cases it becomes visible. Some notable cases are Lanciano Italy dating from the 8th century. Moments after the consecration, the priest, who had been doubting the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist, found himself holding a host that had changed into flesh.

In Dallas at St. James church on March 19, 2006, another Eucharistic miracle was reported. About 1 month ago a boy who had received communion spit out the host on the floor of the bathroom. The priest followed him and picked it up off the floor. The priest placed it in a glass of water and left it there. He went to check on it and saw that it needed more water to help it dissolve because it had not dissolved after 30 days. When he put more water in the glass the host moved from the side of the glass to the middle and turned into the flesh and blood before his very eyes. I saw this myself this afternoon. The blood on the host was staying right in the middle and not blending into the water."

If we were wise we wouldn't be jumping to conclusions, many facts have to established before this is officially a miracle from God.

Such as is this dark red substance actual flesh and blood? And if it is, is it human? And that is the easy part. The hard questions are that if it is proven to actual human flesh, where did it come from? Such as did it come from a cadaver or is it pathological waste from a hospital?

Either this is somebody's clever prank, or it is one very hard to prove miracle. One almost would have to be on hand at the Mass to witness the transmutation personally, in order to know with absolute certainty if this is an act of God.

But I am reserving my judgment on this, at least until the bishop issues his.

Greetings,
I agree Mordocai. Sounds like a religious urban legend. And the priest had the host suspended in water for 30 days? What possessed him to do that? Why didn't he manually dissolve the host into the sacrarium? Is he running some kind of Eucharistic miracle lab?

I believe in transubstantiation, but these Eucharistic miracles have always given me the creeps. I always wonder whether they actually increase faith or repel potential converts because of their sensationalism.

Yup, it dosen't make a lot of sense. A thorough investigation should help clear things up.

Yes, this bothered my wife, also. It almost has the "feel" of an urban legend, but I hope it is not...

Does anyone know if the diocese is doing any research or have they contacted anyone else to do it?

How I understand it, the boy was feeling sick when the incident occurred. The diocese picked up Jesus yesterday about 11:15 AM to conduct an investigation into the matter. I do not know how long this will take. As to why the priest did things the way he did, I have no idea and will not speculate.

Either way, this is a consecrated host and therefore Jesus.

They explained it poorly.

The boy became sick and vomited. His father noticed the Blessed Sacrament in the trash can, then alerted the priest, and then the priest came to investigate.
