Default Article submissions to This Rock

Does Catholic Answers accept unsolicited articles to This Rock Magazine? If so, where can I find the guidelines for submissions?

Thanks much,
Christopher

Have you checked the hard copy versions of the magazine? Seems I have read in there the process to follow.

No. I'm a slacker--I let my subscription run out in...oh...1995. But, This Rock and Catholic Answers are responsible for making me the Catholic Hercules I am today.

(Okay, well, Hercules might be too much of a stretch. I'm more like...the Frodo of Catholic apologetics. No, no, Sam. Yeah, definitely Sam.)

Though I can't help you in this area, I hope you can....I'm eager to read some of your stuff...

Greetings montanaman,

Sophia Sproul, Associate Editor at This Rock spoke with me yesterday, March 11, 2009.

This Rock no longer is accepting unsolicited manuscripts. This is also why there are not any author guidelines posted online.

I had the same question you did, so I called Catholic Answers directly at the number listed in the magazine. I was then connected to Ms. Sproul (pronounced spol).

Other catholic magazines that accept unsolicited manuscripts at this time include the Liguorian and Catholic Digest.

Regards,

Found God

Suggestion:

Try sending a letter to the editor. Your "story" might compliment an article so that there is a tie-in. Be sure to indicate which article, publication date, you are responding to.

Here's current guidelines printed at the end of "Letters" which is usually found toward the front of the magazine.

"We welcome your comments, insights, and questions regarding articles in this issue. Concise letters about a single subject are best. Letters may be edited.

Please e-mail letters to [email protected]
or write to us at PO Box 199000, San Diego, CA 92159-9000."

from This Rock July-August - 2009

And do, everyone, get or renew a subscription to This Rock. Even if only one article a month strikes your fancy -- that is worth three times the subscription price.
And if one article changes your life for the better, get a gift subscription for a friend.

Blessings,
granny
