There's coffee in the red-eye gravy! That's what you do with the old coffee...Of course, that's when there are no mudgies around...

Re: Mudgies back from the Void!
[Cue tuneless organ music...]
In the Continuing Saga of Zooey's Laundry:
Welcome to Part Two: Good News & Bad News.
Seriously....My car mechanic stopped by the house today...Nice young guy, he & his wife are raising 4 kids, & can use the extra from odd jobs. I was telling him about my washing machine dying the other day, & he said, "Let me take a look at it"....
The Bad News: The transmisssion is fried. (There were actuall pieces of metal on the cellar floor underneath the thing when he lifted it to look). It is dead. Pushing up daisies. It has Ceased to Exist. It Has Joined the Choir Invisible. Motionless, it.........oh, rats....You get me. It's an ex-parrot!!
The Good News: He says to me, they're having a sale at our nearby Friendly Appliance Store. And--[Cue appropriate music for There Are Still Nice People In This World]--"If you go pick one out, I'll drive you over in my van, & pick it up. I'll install it for you. There's no reason for you to pay them to bring it; besides, I can install it for you, too".
Oh, yeah, he lives just a block over from me, & his wife told him to tell me that "You can do laundry at our house any time you need to. I know you have friends, but we live so close ".
I think I may actually survive.

Isn't Christian neighbourliness great?
And hi to everyone! Christmas is coming! And American Thanksgiving. We already had our Thanksgiving up here.

Re: Mudgies back from the Void!
I had a funny incident (not to me) at dinner tonight.
I decided to go to the Subway near where I work and live (for some reason, I was hungry for a Seafood Sensation tonight). The person in front of me was arguing with the person behind the counter that the one peice of the bread that they just cut was short than the other. Finally she got the "bigger" side (by anotun 1/4 of an inch if that). When she was run up, it came to $6.66. For some reason, I had a feeling that this person was a dispensationalist and I was correct. She tried to buy something else after it was rung up and the total could not be changed. She said "I probably deserve that for being greedy". I had to turn because I was about to bust a gut.
One good thing came out of it. She queries about where 666 came from. I told here that it was the numeric value of Caesar Nero whose name adds upto 666 using the numeric values Hebrew alphabet.

Re: Mudgies back from the Void!
Ani! Nice to see you! Hope you're feeling better! Yes, I would love to be able to have some snow. Right now were in the upper 80s, the wind is blowing steadily from the south at 21 mph with gusts up to 31 and we are under a tornado watch. PF and Edwin, the rain that passed us last night looks like it's headed up your way.
