Default What do you think of this new feature?

11 - Receive Private Messages from Buddies Only
Users can now select to receive private messages only from users on their buddy list. If a non-buddy tries to send a message, they will receive an error saying that you do not accept private messages. Administrators and moderators are automatically able to bypass this restriction.

I like to be able to receive PM's from people who may not be on my buddy list. That's how my list grows! I'll never use this feature, I'm sure, 'cause I like to meet new people!.

How about you?

That's a great idea! I wonder if it does that? (Even though I don't have anyone on my ignore list)

I agree, its a bad idea...how many will actually use it?
I have had to pm people before and it would have been uncool to have it bounce back in my face. Also I have gotten PMs from people who I didnt know yet and auto rejecting their PM would be insulting.

To tell you the truth, I never really figured out what the use of the 'buddy' option was previously. Still haven't.

But I love the quick reply and quick edit options and the multiple quote already.

If you add someone to your buddy list, first of all, you won't forget their name! This is helpful if you don't see them posting that much, and there are similar user names. And you can send emails to multiple people on your buddy list at the same time.

Are these new features explained somewhere? I clicked on the multiquote button and it didn't do anything. I am kind of a technophobe...

I kinda like the availability of the feature, but I myself wouldn't use it. Just my vote...

I won't be using this feature -- first of all, I don't think I have a buddy list set up yet, so I wouldn't get any PMs at all!

Also, sometimes people will PM me to ask about the Tau or the SFO -- I see no reason to block those PMs.
