Recommend books on St. Theresa D'avila?
hello, I am learning about Catholicism and I am trying to read about various saints, especially women saints. I find this uplifting and it gives me new perspective and inspiration, and a bit of strength in getting through my daily life, which is very complex right now. I've come across a few library books but I am hoping you can point me to some of the best sources, either her writings or summaries of her writings. Or anything the Church has written about her.

St. Teresa is a Carmelite. You can read about her and the Carmelites at this great site:
http://www.carmelite.com/saints/other/index.shtml
You will also find St. Jon of the Cross's writings and info on St. Theresa, Little Flower.
You might like St. Theresa. Her book is all over the world called "Story of a Soul."

Two good books:
St Theresa of Avila by John Beevers
Fire Within by Father Thomas Dubay, S.M.

You can never go wrong reading the books that St Teresa wrote herself...I have read somewhere, that people who knew her, said that she wrote exactly the way she talked. I have learned so much from "listening" to her as I read her Life.
