Thumbs up Exercise Support Group--week of 10/1

Hi everyone...I'm rushed, but here is the new week's progress thread--let's keep up the great work...and hope to see even more new faces.

And, yesterday was my last day on my antibiotic...so woohoo...I'll be bouncing back this week...can't wait. It's been way too long.

Carpe Diem!!!

I am back from vacation ( 2 weeks in Canada/New England) and I am ready to start running again. I will have to work up to it. That along with cooler weather will be something to look forward to.

well I'm new here, but I'll share what I'm doing.
I realized (two weeks ago) that I have gained almost 25 lbs since I got married 18 months ago. so I decided to cut back on my beer (tough druing foot ball season) and stop making pies, cakes and cookies for a while.

I"ve also started taking my doggie for two mile walks while saying two roseries or listening to somce Christian music. I'm also getting back into the ab workout I had started to do a few months ago. so far, I've lost 3 lbs! yeay me

welcome to both of you!!! sue...i hear ya. when i was in my 20's, i didn't need to work out it seemed..then, once i got to about 32...i had to work out...to maintain a healthy, good weight. but, working out is also great for our skin, heart, and overall sense of well being. (and God gave us a body to treat like a temple, so...) All those things combined...it's good to keep moving! Walking the dog sounds like a great way to get moving, and have fun, too.

Nice to have you here...!

Kathy, welcome back. We missed you!

Sue, welcome to the group. This is the friendliest bunch, especially when it comes to supporting each other.

My goal this week is to run 5 days. I skipped yesterday, but ran 2 miles this morning.

Hi Michael!
Thanks ! Today I walked just a shade less than 10 miles. Tomorrow I start running again. I have to start at the beginning. But I figure with cooler weather, it'll be nice. Wish me luck!

I'm in San Diego this week. My hotel is across the street from the Marina, and there's a park nearby that runs along side the Marina. So, when I got off work, I took a run through the park, along the Marina. What an incredible run! I got my 2 miles in, and had a great time. SWEEEEEEET!!!!

I'll weigh myself tomorrow to see if I lost a pound. that's my goal, one lb a week for the next four months. I want to get to a good weight by next spring 'cause hubby and I are going to start trying to have a baby and I want to be healthy

Good job, Sue! You're doing quite well.

I went running again this evening along the Marina here in San Diego. It was so fun, I went 2.5 miles. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get up early enough to run at sunrise. It looked pretty spectacular this morning.

Hey guys!

Did anyone miss me? Rough week.

I ran Monday, not a good run. Two of my bosses bought pizza for lunch. I only had two slices, but combined with 90 degrees at run time..... blech!

Circuit Training today... Killer.

I will be running on Friday and this weekend, probably another 20 miler on my trusty steed.

Next week is my last week before going to school in Alabama. You guys may not hear from me for awhile. I am not sure if I will get internet or not.

Good luck on your goals. I hope everyone meets their goals...

Peace.

Courage.

Courage, it's great to hear from you again. Don't worry about the pizza. It's good for you every once in a while.

BTW, I hear they have internet access in Alabama, so you'll have no excuses, even if you have to go to an internt cafe.

I had just OVER 10 miles walking yesterday. Makes for a good week so far! Weather may be a bit dicey the next couple of days so I may not be as good. But I'll sure try!

I did my ab work out today and my four laps on the walk way. I'm thinking it's 2 miles, but not sure.

what do ya'll think is a reasonable amount of weight to loose per week. I had set a goal of 1lb per week. is that too high? I only lost 1/2 lb this week and I'm trying to do 20 by march. what do you think?
