TV Theme Rhythm Game
Got an old TV theme running through your head? Want to exorcise it? This might help.
Convert the rhythm of the theme to syllables and give it to us to guess what the show was/is.
Here's one for starters:
Bah dum bah dum dum...doink! doink!
Bah dum bah dum dum...doink! doink!
Bah dum bah dum dum, bah dum bah dum dum,
Bah dum bah dum dum...doink! doink!
I should stipulate a correct guess before making a new entry, but I won't.

Re: TV Theme Rhythm Game
OK I"ll give you the words, you guess the tune....
The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
That is all I have to say
And suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please...

Re: TV Theme Rhythm Game
That'd be the theme from MASH - my father's all-time favourite sitcom.
The one I'm thinking of goes
Tum ta-ta-tum ta-ta-tum ta-ta-tum tum taaah taaaaah
Tum ta-ta-tum ta-ta-tum ta-ta-tum, tum ta-ta-tum tum tum ...

You got me stumped there - but you're right on about MASH. Your father sounds like a wonderful and wise man!!
CAn't figure yours out but here's another one....I'm giving the words, guess the tune...
"Come on along
Grab your fishin' pole
And let's go to the fishin' hole
I can't think
Of a better way
To pass the time of day........."

Would this have been whistled? I could sing this to the Andy Griffith show - Mayberry.

Re: TV Theme Rhythm Game
Rhythms are tough on a forum like this..but I just did some TV theme trivia with my wife last week and she never knew this. Someone here will know it:
In the earliest (first and maybe second) season(s), what two people were left out of the Gilligan's Island Theme song?
...."and the rest" was all they got

The Professor and Mary Ann. I think they added that after the first season though!
