Default Have you seen Henry V?

I've been watching Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, and the music is really beautiful.
Does anybody know what that chant is they sing during the Dead March? It starts "Da nobis domine domine . . ." I think. I can't find it listed anywhere.

Via Amazon
Track 12
you might be able to find it on iTunes.

It is very beautiful.
My mother has always loved that part of the "lipless wonder's" Henry V.

I think it is non nobis nomine Domine, not to us Lord, but to thy name, be the glory given. latinists please correct me, and is an old hymn of praise, but the setting may have been new for the movie, it actually got a lot of air time on radio stations when the movie came out.

You might also want to see the Laurence Olivier version which came out during WWII. It's music is quite stirring and it's battle of Agincourt is just stunning.

The movie is OUTSTANDING.

The chant is "Non nobis, Domine". The music is by Patrick Doyle (who also did the music for Branagh's "Much Ado About Nothing".) The sheet music is readily available and is listed with CCLI (for those churches with CCLI licenses).

It is an absolutely gorgeous piece of music.

Blessings,

I LOVE "Non Nobis Domine."
I bought the CD soundtrack of Henry V recently just
so I could listen to that one beautiful song over and over.

No. I'm pretty sure he died a long time ago.

Ha ha, Thanks for my laugh for the day.
I think the soundtrack will be my Christmas present to myself.
