Exercise Support Group--week Of 12/31
Happy New Year, everyone!
I haven't been working out much this past week, but I've been moving my wife's business all week to a new warehouse, so I've been getting plenty of physical activity. But today will be the end of that move, and tomorrow I plan to hit the treadmill.
So . . . new year . . . new you (at least that' what the commercials say). Let's all get out there and workout together!

I had my husband set me up on a 40 min/day ex program. I hope I can keep it up!

Hi - I am a mother of five boys and I just bought the book South Beach Diet. I am reading it and have decided to do the two week program. I just want to shed a few over 40 inches and pounds. I would love the support of all of you.

Welcome Cindy! I have been fighting the "losing game" for forever! My main form of exercise is walking. I do a LOT! I think the new year is a wonderful time to make changes. A little at a time is the best way. I know people who have followed the South Beach Diet and have had wonderful success. I wish you the same. Drop in now and then and let us know how you are doing.

Re: Exercise Support Group--week Of 12/31
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Count me back in. My sabbatical is done and I'm in desperate need of getting back into the swing of exercising 5-6 times, per week...like I was back in the fall. My foot is better, but I'll stick to the bike and elliptical until it's safe to jog again. I'm praying for us all that we stick to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle! I have southbeach diet book, too...it's awesome! I have made some great recipes...and another good eating plan to follow is Body for Life...where it teaches you how to incorporate healthy fats, proteins, and carbs into every meal...
I didn't work out today...but plan on this week...HERE'S TO HEALTH, friends.

Re: Exercise Support Group--week Of 12/31
Well, I had 21 miles for Tuesday and Wednesday total. Didn't work NY. Trying to "crank it up" a bit as far as exercise. Didn't like what the scale at the MD's office said

Kathy, you're determination and commitment are awesome.
I finally got back on the treadmill this morning, and ran my 2 miles. It was very hard after being off for a while.
How's everyone else doing?

It seems like one day I do great, the next day terrible. Yesterday was a bad day, so hopefully I'll do better today.

Every other day is fine, especially if you're just starting out. Don't feel bad about that. In fact, you might want to commit to every other day. Then, if you do more, it's a bonus. It could help keep you motivated.

Re: Exercise Support Group--week Of 12/31
Had another decent day.....9.53 miles. That makes for just over 30 miles this week so far. I wish the @^&^%$$%#^% scale would GO DOWN. I GAINED 4 lbs !! And NO , Michael, I DID NOT have too many Hershey's Kisses!
