Patron Saint of Worry?
Hello all,
Anyone know of a patron saint of worries or anxiety or stress? My fiance is an anxious person and his worrying is reaching an all-time high amidst the financial stresses of our wedding preparation and those fun "surprises" that life pops up just when you don't need another bill to worry about
I think it would comfort him if I got him a prayer card to a patron saint of this regard... if anyone has any ideas on one that may be appropriate, I'd so greatly appreciate it!

I imagine St Martha, who was 'anxious about many things' would be a great one. Here is some information about her, a picture you can maybe print and a prayer to her too.
Or else St Dymphna, who is patron against nervous disorders.

Quotations from St. Teresa of Avila:
Quote:
|
Let nothing disturb thee; Let nothing dismay thee; All thing pass; God never changes. Patience attains all that it strives for. He who has God finds he lacks nothing: God alone suffices.

Anyone who truly loves God travels securely.

Also, St. Padre Pio has a TON of excellent quotations related to worrying at the following website:

An example:
Quote:
|
Pray, hope and don't worry. Anxiety doesn't help at all. Our Merciful Lord will listen to your prayer.

Re: Patron Saint of Worry?
My 21 year old daughter suffers from paralyzing anxiety and a friend just sent her a prayer card, medal and booklet of St. Dymphna. The friend is an older woman who suffered from anxiety and worry for over 20 years many years ago. She SWEARS by this Saint. I'd never heard of her but she told us Dymphna was the patron saint of anxiety and worry and fear.
