Default Exercise Support Group--Week of 03/11

Happy New Week, everyone!

My computer is having severe problems, which began last Sunday. The display went completely white. That's why I haven't been online for the past week. It still isn't fixed, so I'm working in Safe Mode at the moment.

Anyway, time to set goals for the week. My goal is to run 10 miles on the treadmill.

This week looks better walking for me. Weatherwise it's supposed to be in the 50's. Makes for easier walking! Hope to make it another 40 + mile week.

50's is better? Ouch! We're having the opposite problem. It's expected to exceed 90 today. I like it, but not for running outside.

hi all....nice to see you.
It's around 60 today--perfect weather for just about any type of outdoor exercise. I went to the grocery store earlier, and my foot is now pretty stiff and sore. UGH! Honestly? It's actually more annoying than painful...lol...it's not broken, it's not fractured...it's just ANNOYING!!!

Ok...ranting doesn't help.

I plan on doing an extensive arm and ab workout in just a few moments...I found a great workout on Comcast, (under their fitness section) that gives a lot of strength training instruction--so wish me luck. I might be too sore though, to type later.

Keep up the good work everyone...spring is around the corner...and then summer...bathing suit weather!!! Well, sounds like Michael is having that type of weather--already.

I had a great workout...the ab/arm strength training recommends warming up for ten minutes prior to lifting weights...so, I did the bike for about 20 minutes...a steady 85 RPM, with a few intervals thrown in.

Then, did the arm and ab workout. There is a different workout daily...to work different muscles within your back, and arms. The workout, including the bike totaled about 50 minutes. The time flew by....

Hope everyone has a great week!

Down another 4 lbs this week. I'm down 20 lbs total since starting the exercise.

I missed my intense workout yesterday so my goal is 2 intense workouts and 2 moderate workouts.

I leave for Rome on Friday morning so I don't have any days that I can slack this week.

I finished my eliptical workout tonight...did about 3.5 miles at a pretty good pace--even pace, with a few intervals. And high resistance thrown in. Ate dinner, and now I am planning on doing squats, and lunges.

For the women on here...check out this book/website...it's really great, I bought it over the weekend. It might help you stay on track with strength training...as we grow older, we really lose a lot of muscle mass.

I ran 2 miles on the treadmill this morning, to get started on my 10 miles for the week.

Nick, great job on the weight loss. I'm really impressed. Keep up the great job!

Kathy, that's a great start to the week. If I recall correctly, the last time you did 50 miles in a week was in December. Is that correct?

I ran 2 more miles this morning on the treadmill. The next 3 days, I'll be working from home, so I'll have to make sure I have the discipline to run on my treadmill.

Hey - nice job!!!! Way to go. You'll be walking your butt off in Rome.

I have been on a 4 day stoppage - my knee hurts. I'll hop on the treadmill tonight but for a light slow walk.

I have lost 5 lbs since lent started so 5 lbs and I should be set.

I'm still in awe on how you get that manu miles in daily. When I walk 5 miles it takes about 70 min. Nice job

Do you have access to an eliptical? That would be much easier on your knees . . . less impact.
