Default Is it a sin to miss Easter Mass to have a baby?

I am having my baby by c-section next week. I have asked to receive Communion while in the hospital, but chances are that I will be home recovering by Easter. I am afraid that I will not be well enough to make it to Mass on Easter, but am very concerned about missing it. Is there anything I can do?

Default Re: Is it a sin to miss Easter Mass to have a baby?

Please don't worry about it. It is not a sin to miss Mass on Sundays and holy days if a person has just cause to do so. Certainly recovering from giving birth counts as just cause to miss Mass. In fact, even the care of a newborn would also constitute just cause. If an extraordinary minister can bring you Communion while you are homebound, that's great, but you need not worry that you are required to do so.
