Being bounced to home page when trying to post response. Cut off in mid-thought.

I noticed something similar on another forum that uses the same version of vbulletin with a thread. Maybe it's a programmed April Fools joke in the vbulletin code.

Although there are "April Fools" type add-ons to the forum software, we do not have them installed here.

Just once? Or multiple times? Since you can post here, I'll assume that it doesn't happen all the time.

Were you sent directly to the Home page? Or was there an intermediate page?

Were you logged out of your forum account?

Did you use "Preview Post"?

What browser (brand & version) are you using?

I wasn't able to give more detail the other night because I only had a little time before being cut off. Today, I'm going to try to write a bit more and see if it happens again. So far, so good.

Don't you just love Holy Week? I do. I think it's the most significant part of the year. Here in South Bend Indiana, Notre Dame theology students present an outdoor Stations on Tuesday night of Holy Week. We look forward to it every year. It's a truly moving experience. There are usually a few hundred people and we walk the campus carrying candles and stop at various locations for prayer and meditation. Along the way, the student choirs sing various hymns, some in Latin and some in English. At the twelfth station, when Jesus dies for our sins, the basilica bell tolls long and low. At the fourteenth station, we enter into the basilica while the choir sings "Jesus Remember Me". The lights are all out to simulate the tomb. There are some final readings and then we all go home. It's a beautiful experience....

I just successfully posted a response to Tech Admin, so whatever it was seems to be gone now. But I'll try to answer these questions in case it helps.

I was sent directly to the Home Page with no intervening pages. I'm new here, so I'm not sure if I was properly logged. There was no error message and I did not use Preview Post. I can't answer the question about the browser because I don't know.

Thanks for your patience and help. I'm sure I'll get better at this with a little time and practice...

I was just reading a post in the Family Section and all of a sudden I was bounced back to the home page. I was only reading!!

More observations since first starting this thread:

1. It seems not to happen if I reply to a post by linking to it by way of my e-mail (as I'm doing now).

2. Yesterday, I had the home page open while working on a Word document in front. Occasionally, I heard a little click and saw the home page being re-booted behind my document.
