Exercise support thread for week of 4/1!
Hey everyone--thought I'd post since I was surfing the net, anyways. Let's hit our goals this week...My goal is to do 5 days of weight training, and 5 days of cardio...upping my calories burned, and distance traveled in my workout routines. I'm heading to do my spinning video now. We have a potential mover strolling through our house now with my hubby, estimating how much it will cost to move us...fun fun fun....
have a good one everyone--talk to you all later!
here's to our health

Re: Exercise support thread for week of 4/1!
ok--did my w/out today. Spinning video....5 minutes more than I normally go (so about 30 minutes today)--over 6 miles! yay Got my ab crunches, and strength training in, too. I really like this 'smart girls do dumbbells' workout A LOT! It's easy to follow--she breaks up the routine so you're never bored (which was my problem with weight training before) and she teaches you proper form, so I'm not straining. It's like having a personal trainer in my house.
I also have to do these stretching exercises for my foot...hey, btw...my foot is much better....I think that coritsone a few weeks ago really helped to take the swelling down. Hopefully, I'm on the mend, and can start jogging/running again...I miss it.
Have a blessed day, all...looking forward to seeing your 'reports.'

Re: Exercise support thread for week of 4/1!
Hey, Sharon, good job on the workout today. I took the day off, and might have to take tomorrow off, too. My boss asked me today to go up to Northern California tomorrow, through Wednesday, so I have to get up early tomorrow to catch my flight. I'm going to try to workout after work tomorrow.
I'm going to set a goal of 10 miles running this week, due to this crazy schedule.

Re: Exercise support thread for week of 4/1!
Hey everybody.
Got LOTS of walking in while in Rome for the past couple of weeks. Actually lost another 6 lbs while over there.
My goal for this week is 3 intense workouts and 3 moderate-light workouts. Got an intense workout in on Sunday and already a light workout today with more to come tonight.

Hey Michael,
Where in Northern CA? Did you make it up to my neck of the woods (Sacramento)?

That sounds like a great video. Is that the name of it "Smart girls do dumbbells"? Who puts it out?
I plan to ride my bicycle hard for one hour every day this week. Just finished today.

hi deb!
actually--the spinning video for the bike is called 'Spinervals...' ugh...nothing like it out there for personal training in your home....EXCELLENT WORKOUT...You want to die (nearly) when you're done. (it's a good thing though, right? ) I was just reading an article about working out 'intensely' everyday...I think I struggle with that, personally. I want to go all out every day, but after a few days, I feel like I could sleep for a week...almost an unbelievable fatigue...I just read in this article that it's good to mix in moderate workouts...with intense. But, this video is remarkable...click on: www.spinervals.com
here's the link for the weight training for women:
www.smartgirlsdodumbbells.com
hope u like them as much as me, deb.
welcome back tdnick--6 lbs??? that's great...you weren't even gone that long...so woohoo...awesome!!!!

I started the week with exactly 8 miles. Was a wee bit of an off day for me. I'm shooting for 10 tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the Links. I have wanted to try weight training with dumbbells. The book looks great.
Actually I only ride my bicycle outside, a real bicycle. I have to see the world go by, feel the wind in my face and race with the neighborhood kids. I am working on riding about 6 days a week rain (light rain) or shine.
Thanks again!

Re: Exercise support thread for week of 4/1!
Hey, everyone, it's great to see you all here. My hotel has an excercise room, so I got to run on the treadmill after work, 2 miles, before a quick shower and going for dinner. I gotta stay focused to reach that 10 miles.
Nick, welcome back. I missed you. Was Rome wonderful? I cried when I first walked into St. Peter's Square; I was home for the first time in my life.
I'm in Walnut Creek through Wednesday. I might be back up north next week for three days (Wed - Fri), in San Jose.

It was AWESOME! This is my second time in two years and I love it. It's almost like an addicting drug. Every time I go I feel like I need to go more. We're already planning a trip for next year.

Good luck--but you don't need it --you are always so consistent...it's great!
Welp--I briskly walked, and then started jogging...went about 2 miles...and ugh...my aching foot. I stretched it out, but I think the jogging pushed it...but it felt good, in a way, to do it. To push it a bit. Did not do weights today...I will tomorrow, though...have a good one, all!
