This is very close to real time. For example, you and I could post to each other quickly by staying on this thread. (But I'm leaving for now.)

If you post in the Internet Junkie's thread in the evenings (around 8pm-12pm EDT), it's often so busy in there that, if you refresh your screen, you might see a new post. Sunday-Tuesday nights seem the busiest, with Friday sometimes being busy.

The Catholic group on MSN use to have one until MSN to the chat away, but that was at only certain times during the week. They have gone to another site, but I do not know what that is.

As for myself, most chats I cannot get into since I am on an iMac which is fine with me. I have a tendancy to go postal on people in those chats.

I like the one on mIRC's DALnet, which has a nice group of people. Likewise, even their generic Christian chatroom is friendly, with people of all denominations, and Anti-Catholic attacks are not tolerated.

The worst, though, just so you know, are on AOL. Do NOT go to their Catholic chat. It is nothing but atheist mockers and Anti-Catholics that could make Jack Chick look like a Pope-loving Fatima enthusiast in comparison.

We have a nice Catholic Chat, but most it tends to be late night, people start coming in around 10 or 11 PM. Agape Catholic Chat has voice chat, so we pray together, also most of us there have prayed and chatted together for over six years now. No nonsence allowed! It is there, anyone is welcome to use it anytime. http://www.agapecatholic.com/SetupAgape2.exe

It's great to find out about these chat rooms. On numerous occasions I have gone to special interest rooms to try to get info or just to join in and it's like I'm almost totally ignored. They're into "their" thing and it's almost like a clique. Is there something i don't know that I should so that I would be accepted. I always greet the room when I come in. One time I went to a room when I was severely depressed and having trouble with suicidal ideation and I was mocked. And the chat rooms for Baltimore folks are less than charming, and that city calls itself Charm City. What a laugh!

Yeah, and um, NOT Myspace Chat either. Myspace is sophmoric all around, but especially the chat, and specifically the Catholic chat. I had to go into the "paganism" chat to have an intelligent conversation, and actually, they were far more willing to discuss Catholicism like mature adults than the other rooms. If you really want to chat, it just might be better to hang out after Mass and see real people

Does this forum have a chat feature? That would be great.
