Karl, new forum suggestions
Hi Karl,
As any faithful listener to your Q&A sessions on the radio program knows, there are three topics you never discuss on the air. I noticed that one of them, Politics, has its own forum. I guess this means it's not off-limits here on the CA forums.
So my question is: when can we expect to see forums on Sports and Soap Operas?
Sorry, couldn't resist.

Re: Karl, new forum suggestions
Inasmuch as sports and soap operas, to some people, are topics as volatile as politics, all threads on them will have to appear in the Politics forum.

Re: Karl, new forum suggestions
While I am new to this forum, the first thing I've noticed is the absence of a forum for Eastern Rites of the Catholic Church.
Pope John XXIII said, "The Eastern Churches are the Treasures of the Catholic Church".
The Vatican II Council declared that "all should realize it is of supreme importance to understand, venerate, preserve, and foster the exceedingly rich liturgical and spiritual heritage of the Eastern churches, in order faithfully to preserve the fullness of Christian tradition" (Unitatis Redintegrato, 15). Pope John Paul II said that "the Catholic Church is both Eastern and Western."
As a Roman Catholic who has recently discovered the Maronite Catholic Church, there is so much beauty and depth to their liturgy. Hopefully you will be able to create a new forum for those discussions.

Re: Karl, new forum suggestions
Mr. Keating,
Another option that might be useful, is the ability to ping (contact) people about certain threads and direct them there. Might be especially useful if moderators are needed, or people who have an apologetic motor going (not me) arrive at posts for their inputs. It is useful on Freerepublic, for notifying the Catholic Caucus about battle having been joined. My two cents.
God Bless
