Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
Happy Sunday to everyone! Welcome to the new thread for this week. It's time to set goals for the week. I pushed myself hard last week, running a total of 15 miles. However, based on schedule this coming week, I'm going to set a goal of running 12 miles this week. I started off this morning by running 2 miles, so I have 10 more to go.

Hi Michael,
I finished up the week with just over 50 miles! Here's hoping for another good one!

Re: Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
Ended up walking 3 miles on sat & sun morning plus 45-60 mins of tkd both days.
I did lots of yard work and fishing this weekend. My 5 yr old son caught 3 fish this weekend, one being a nice fat cat fish. Uh, my total fish caught for the weekend -ZERO-.
I guess my goal for the week is 21 miles of walking plus around 7 hours of tkd.

Outstanding effort Puzzleannie. Hold it - before I give too much praise - did you turn the TV off yourself or use the remote?
Nice job on the swimming however.

To all you goal setters:
Nice job for last week. I am impressed - Michael you really reached outside your average week.
Frank - fabulous consistancy - except for the fishing. Way to let your son beat you though - I mean way to instill confidence and build self-esteem in your son by not out-doing him.
And Kathy - ooooohhhhh my goodness. You kick walking butt!

Re: Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
I was pleased with my efforts last week. I walked/ran a total of 33 miles. Most I have ever done. Started to run a bit more - like a half mile at a time, then walk.
I did not make my goal of strength training for 3 days. Only did 2 days. BUT I am not discouraged.
My 14 yr old son had compliments for me - which are near impossible to get.

Re: Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
My boyfriend bought me an early Mother's Day gift since I will not be here next weekend to celebrate - (even though he is not the dad, he does acknowledge my effort as mom which I think is so sweet).
Anyways, he bought me an Ipod shuffle to use at the gym or when I am on my treadmill and TV stinks. It drove my kids nuts all weekend because I sing now. My oldest told me I best keep the singing mum when I use it at the gym.
I love that little gadget - so cool and smaller than a matchbook.

I think I'm not going to walk then..... I don't need to get my kicks that way.

Maybe you need your butt kicked? Or do you feel more like kicking someone elses butt?

Re: Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
Well last week did not go so well for me.
This week I'm looking for 3 intense workouts and 3 moderate wokrouts. 1 intense workout already down from yesterday.

Re: Exercise support group--week of 4/29!
Nick, don't worry about last week. It's behind you now, and there's nothing you can do to change it. So move on. Focus on doing better this week, but kep in mind, that little may need more attention than you plan. That's OK.
John, you're doing great. It's good to see you making that effort. Keep it up!
Jenn, congratulations on the iPod. Now you're got the "cool factor" going for you. And sing as loud as you want. I don't mind. Really.
Puzzleannie, keep it up. Push yourself a little more each week. Good job.
Frank, I like the stretch goals. That will keep you focused all week.
I ran 3 miles this morning on the treadmill. Frank, you said that it gets easier after 3 miles, but I'm finding that the first 2 are the hardest. The 3rd is much easier for me. So I have 7 to go to reach my goal for the week.

Do you find that you are getting more motivated? It sounds as if you are.
I know I am. I pulled all my summer clothing out and I was pleasanlty surprised that things fit nicely. I even had to put some bigger stuff away. Yippee - and bubbye!
