Default Exercise support group--week of 5/13!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone. May God bless all the wonderful mothers in this group!

OK, it's time to set our goals for the next week. I'll be in San Diego again all week, so I think I can run 15 miles this week, so that's my goal. I'm taking today off, so I'll start up tomorrow.

Thank you!
Happy Mother's Day all...
My kids bought me an ipod shuffle (teeny weeny lil thing...too cute) for Mom's Day...I have been using my son's...and believe me, he is thrilled for me to have my own. So my workouts will be easier, inevitably...because I like to take a bottle of water with me on my walks/jogs, and it was hard with my son's ipod...to hold everything during the w/outs...so...I have no excuses now Strength training will be great too, because this lil device just clips on to your workout clothes...

what will apple think up next?

I am heading out later to walk with it...probably job...after I pack/clean s'more. Type at ya later.

I'm just getting over my recovery from my surgery, so I think I'll go take a walk before my stuff to do this evening.

Unfortunately, because of my arms and my IV, I'll only really be able to walk for the next month or so; no bicycling or swimming.

After 2 days off, I am thinking of going for one day of 20. I hope I can do it.

I ended up failing miserably for last week. Got my first 6 miles in quickly, but a full schedule of evening meetings, babysitting, and family get-togethers never allowed for finishing.

Won't be able to start again until tomorrow, so I'll go for 10 miles as a goal for this week.

I just got back from my morning run. I'm back in San Diego for the week, and ran along the ocean again. Made it 3 miles.

Sure with I had an iPod shuffle. Anyone have one that I could borrow?

No iPod, but my MP3 player shuffles. Took a while to figure out how to do it though as it wasn't listed in the instruction manual and they buried it pretty deep in the menu.

Surgery went OK. The stitches were removed (again) on Friday. The elbow is a little sore to the tough, and otherwise just tight. My right shoulder seems to have absorbed a lot of the pain, however. Owie!

Thanks for asking!

Last night, I took a 4-mile walk on the C&O Canal near my house, which included the newly restored Monocacy Aqueduct.

Wow! That looks like a difficult place to walk. You must love that. I'm glad your surgery went well. Do you have any therapy to help you recover?

Biking on it works well also, as long as there hasn't been a lot of rain. The C&O is one of the most-used portions of the National Park Serivce system. Website.

Not until the PICC line and my antibiotics IV are removed from my left arm, which won't be for another month. Then maybe I can get back to PT.

Well the way things are right now I don't think it'll be useful to set specific goals for a while because I know I won't meet them. So my goal for now is simply to get exercise.

2 miles power walking...no jogging today, and the foot is better.
Yay...I broke in my new ipod shuffle...lol

I tell ya though...I'm tired of Pittsburgh's hills....I look forward to some flat ground in Florida.

I was sick, remember...and fell totally out of it, and it's tough to get back into it, even after just one week of not working out...so, me too...I agree with you...I decided to just do a minimum of 2 miles...whether it's elliptical or walking...or jogging...daily, until I'm willing to set a goal again.

Goals are good...but setting a goal to 'simply' get exercise is a good one. NOTHING SIMPLE ABOUT IT ON SOME DAYS, THOUGH!!!

Nick, what's going on? Is it the baby, or something else? Can we pray for you?
