You are welcome and thank you! I think we all go through darkness at times. St. Faustina seem to have suffered this as well.

Re: St. Faustina's Diary: In notebooks: Discussion 1
I am going to attempt to show my daughter of 9 that it is not a diet when one chooses to eat properly, and make decisions about what we consume. I am very overweight (330), but she has been developing for almost a year now. Recently she put on some weight, and it does not bother her, except running (asthma). I do not want to change my little girl, but i do not want her to suffer the same debilitating feelings once weight keeps you from doing things. She is a lover of good food, so it will not be hard for her. However, i have to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. I am almost excited that it means so much to me to show her, but scared i can not keep up financially.
Please pray for me to not loose heart! This HAS to be a way of life, i can see that now, and i have procrastinated too many years for myself. I plan on asking for help via the chaplet, and making a time of day just for me and Jesus. I need that to go on, it seems to be calling me for so long now!

Dear Lana, You will be in my prayers. I need to lose weight as well and know how you feel. It really is a way of life to eat more healthy. I struggle with keeping disciplined in this area. Perhaps we could start praying for each other.

Re: St. Faustina's Diary: In notebooks: Discussion 1
Oh that indeed is a good idea. It is so hard to eat well when the healthy stuff is sooo much more expensive. On a low single income, it is hard not to sacrifice yourself so that the children have the better stuff for their lunches at school.
A friend of mine from New York sent me a starter pack of low carb bars and pastas...truly the hardest things to give up, next to bread. I searched though, and found a low carb bread, and actually had a sandwich tonight of roast beef on whole weat.
It was good! I even ate an orange afterwards! both i have not done in over 15-20 years. I decided i will not die...lol..!!
I surely believe that my weight is always put on the back burner, but there is a reason...denial, and then actually having to do something. Gosh, so much is hidden behind the why. I have actually done well in life with my children, and kept a strong moral open line, but life has had a few twists!
In a nut shell, married early to a man i did not know was Gay, and i was his cover that of which he did not cherrish, excepting with a fist for about 5 years. My son and i fled the provence, and then found out he was terminal at age 7, at just before his 19th
BD he passed away from Strep throat, not what he was ill of. This was three years ago, and in a second marriage with a 7 and 9 year old. Starting all over was hard not to feel like i was scared to try with them. Maybe God would see fit to take them too.
I know this is not true, but stages of grief are so different, we were a team, and i seem so lost without him. Courage is a word that lingers so close to what i want to feel.
I draw strenth from this Prayer, as it is rumored to be the prayer when nothing else works when struggaling with inner struggles and repetitive sin...letting go i might call it.
Thank you for your prayers, they mean a lot to me!
Lana

Always be reassured of my prayers Rammty..this is what Faustina would have done. I guess I can let you know now, but the book I gave you a couple of years ago on Divine mercy, that was my favourite book used and reused over and over again. I do have another but it is not the same. It has nowhere near the stuff thas was in yours. The one you have they do not make anymore....so cherish it for sure....and may it remind you that there is someone out there who thinks of you and prays for you!

Re: St. Faustina's Diary: In notebooks: Discussion 1
I got the book a month ago, but haven't been able to read it till the last couple of weeks, so I'm a little behind most of you in the reading. One thing that's struck me is how often St. Faustina mentions is how she often she felt overwhelmed, or not very spiritual, or tries to turn away from Jesus.
I was baptized this Easter and really couldn't be happier...but there are times that I feel sort of dry spiritually. I know there are dark/dry times for everyone spiritually, I just had thought that it would be much longer down the road. Its really inspiring to know that even great saints went through this too.

Oh yeah. St. Faustina had great hope and this has helped her go through the dark/dry times.
Today's reading - Tobit's son and Sarah - it says a lot about Hope in God too.
