NP House of Work Alternatives #1 - The Welcome Hall
Hi, welcome all to the latest new 'club' in the clubhouse, the Nondeterministic Procrastinators.
Nondeterministic means that you can never predict exactly when it is that we won't feel like working (-:
This is the house of 'work alternatives' because, as true procrastinators know, we're not actually wasting time, just doing something different.
For example, we may be appreciating the arts, such as pictures of rodents with machine guns.
We may be discussing the latest... um... thing.
But most importantly, we are helping to alleivate loneliness in others by giving them someone to talk to. Isn't that much more important than whatever work we were "meant to be doing"?
This first thread is the welcome hall. The walls of this room are intentionally left undecorated because it is our guests, the people in the welcome hall, who add colour, flavor and life to this room.
So, give us a yell, and light this place up!

Re: NP House of Work Alternatives #1 - The Welcome Hall
Well, I guess you'd call me a deterministic procrastinator (DP) because I can tell EXACTLY when I won't feel like working - since I never DO feel like working
You mentioned rodents with machine guns, but if we're talking wildlife I really prefer our resident rhino with makeup:
The red cloth is to cover up the thong underwear she used to wear ...

Like Lily, I can predict exactly when I won't feel like working.
But I will hang around to help cheer those up who need it. I actually meant to post this a little while ago, but didn't get around to it.

There is a lot of work to be done, but here I am, doing my part to help others I think I will fit in quite nicely around here.

Hmm, this thread is taking off slowly. Guess typing is considered work now too, huh?
And, I probably just kicked myself out of this club. I actually did a sinkfull of dishes earlier when the baby went to sleep.

Ok, I'm going to vote myself in. I just looked at the five things on my desk that need to be done and decided to post instead.

Almost got tempted to work again. Thank goodness this was here to work off the tension.

Well, now that the work day has come to an end, I guess I'll stop posting here.
Unless I find a "honey do" list when I get home....

Re: NP House of Work Alternatives #1 - The Welcome Hall
Nice to see this thread is getting off to some sort of start, even a slow one.
You know what... yesterday I even did some work. I came to uni mid afternoon to work on my graphics project, thats when I started this thread. Also did a bit of eating, surfing other sites, playing games, walking etc. Around nighttime I thought I'd do a bit of work, and fixed one of the bugs in the program (it turned out to be a matter of changing one character, from a 6 to a 0), then bludged around some more, talking on msn mainly.
All up, one character in 10 hours, not bad ay?
Maybe I can try and change 2 characters today. I have about 13 hours and I've already had lunch.
So, how is everyone else going? Everything well in your lives?
