Telegraph Rumor: Motu Proprio tomorrow (June 2nd)
Blessed mutterings surround Latin Mass
A senior figure in the Vatican, a monsignor close to the Pope, has been told that the long-awaited motu proprio lifting restrictions on the Tridentine Latin Mass will be issued tomorrow.
I’ve cried wolf on this subject before, so don’t bet on it – but the announcement seems imminent, and traditionalists MUST be ready to react the second the document appears.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: Telegraph Rumor: Motu Proprio tomorrow (June 2nd)
I just can't see this document being released on June 2, Sts. Peter and Marcellinus.
There are plenty of "better" days this month: - the 3rd (Trinity Sunday)
- the 7th (Corpus Christi)
- the 15th (Sacred Heart)
- the 29th (Sts. Peter & Paul)
- the 30th (anniversary of Lefebvre consecrations).

I cant wait until it is released, in hope that it will cause healing of division for at least some traditionalists and the Catholic Church.

Re: Telegraph Rumor: Motu Proprio tomorrow (June 2nd)
I think those expecting it to fall on a "significant date" don't understand B16. He is very German, the document is significant in and of itself. If it were released on a "significant date" the day would lose its own significance, as the significance of the MP would eclipse it. He is very much "take one thing at a time" kind of guy.
For one example, look at his first encyclical. Everyone was expecting him to put everything and the kitchen sink into it, and it really only addressed the main topic. (as opposed to JPtG who would just keep on piling layer upon layer into an encyclical) (German vs. Polish method? )
Look for a simple, concise document when you least expect it.
Yours in Christ,
Thursday
P.S.
Sorry for any incomprehensibility, but it is 3AM. . .

Re: Telegraph Rumor: Motu Proprio tomorrow (June 2nd)
As many have noted, the anticipation of its release and the ensuing discussion and exposure that it is creating seem to be producing good results already.

The more press at this point, the better. The anticipation (or fear)
must be tougher on those liberals.

Well, it seems to not have arrived. I will let my signature speak for itself...
