Default Exercise support group--week of 6/10!

Happy Sunday, everyone. It's the Lord's day. May hie peace be upon all of you.

It's time to set our goals for the week. In preparation my 10K run on 8/11, I'm pushing myself to new levels, starting this week. My goals are as follows:

Run 19 miles this week.
Run 4 miles 1 day this week.

Hi Michael....Hi everyone! My sisterinlaw came to the house today...and we powerwalked together...it was great...hot but great. I need to remember to wear lots of sunscreen -- no shade at all here. Bad thing though...we all went to Sonny's BBQ for dinner.... Kinda canceled out my walk....

I do like power walking here...and on days when my foot is ok...I'm going to resume jogging.

My goals for the week are:

2 days strength training
2 days eliptical--3-4 miles each day
3 days power walking--2 miles each day
1 day running--over 1 mile--hoping for 2-depending on foot

30-40 minute sessions for strength training, hopefully.

Your goals look so impressive Michael...!! Awesome. I hope to achieve mine. I am going into the office for a day and a half this week, but that shouldn't thwart anything.

HERE'S TO HEALTH, EVERYONE! Make it a great week.

Hi Everyone. I hope I can join your group. My goals for the week are small but look huge to me. I will walk for 1/2 hour on M and F and do 15 min. of aeorbic activity on T, W, Th.
For the past 3 weeks I've been depressed and though I was losing weight I've gained back a few pounds. Am afraid to weigh myself.

welcome johanna....always nice to have someone new join us! Please don't let the scale dictate your progress. Yes, it's a measuring tool...but see how your clothes fit...how you feel...if you're gaining stamina and strength. And report here often...we are a great group of people here to help each other...

and ...best of all? You won't find any scales here.

So I did my official weigh-in this morning. I'm down exactly 40 lbs since Jan 29.

My goals this week - 5 days of cardio & 3 days of weights. 1 cardio day down from this morning. I'll be doing a lot of dog walking for the next 3 weeks since I'm housesitting. That should be a nice change from my normal biking.

Hi Johannah, welcome!

Sharon's right. We're here to help each other reach our individual goals. It's all good.

My race is on the 24th, so the next two weeks are taper weeks. This week's plan is a total of: swim 2hr35min 7300 yards - bike 2hr55min - run 1hr 40min

I have to figure out what to do after this race. I'm thinking that I'll do another Olympic distance triathlon (1.5Kswim, 40Kbike, 10k run) in early September.

I'm thinking that this time, though, I may follow a half ironman 12 week training schedule. I'm interested in doing a half ironman next year, so this will get me use to the training. If it's not working out for some reason, I can just scale it back to the Olympic distance training.

Still have a few weeks to figure it out.

40 pounds Nick! Wow, congratulations!!!!

Myself, I need to get my nutrition under control. Still twenty to thirty pounds over where I ought to be given all the training I do. Just don't watch what I eat, and I end up eating a lot of fat and sugar.

Michael, nice goals leading up to the 10K.

Hey, johannah, welcome to the group. It's GREAT to have you here.

Hey everyone, I forgot to mention yesterday that I ran 3 miles yesterday morning. Last night I flew up to Northern California for 3 days of work. So I went outside for my run this morning. Ran 3 more miles. 6 down for the week. Only 13 more to go.

That is wonderful Nick! That's about what I have to lose yet and it surely has been a struggle for me too! I am off today and if the weather holds out, plan to go for a long walk before Novena this evening.

My goal is to walk at least an hour, preferably an hour and a half every day.

Of course I did nothing yesterday, because it rained all day (plus we spent half the day at church for Father's ordination anniversary party--can you say ice cream? ). And of course, it looks like it could rain any minute this morning too. That's why I gave the leeway of an hour--can do that all at once in the evening if I don't get out in the morning to split it up.

How my goodness. When you sending me an updated pic of the new hottie?
I am soooo proud of you?

I guess you did have a good strong comeback last week.

I am hoping to follow in your footsteps by having a strong week. It has started off good so far with 5.75 miles yesterday and 3.75 before work today.

You are most certainly welcome. We have tons of encouragement for you.
Most of us here are still developing and refining our routines.

We all have fallen and have weeks that are not very productive - but WE WILL ENCOURAGE YOU to get back up.

Hold it. There is the Eco Challenge.... I thought you were one of my teammates. I need someone strong in the water ( or at least someone that will even go in the water) since I hate swimming.

I think Kathy is our long distance hauler....anyone else?
Not sure where the race is this year....Fiji? Costa Rica? Get your malaria shots soon though - before it's too late.

Nice job by the way and stay strong and healthy.

Salads for everyone today - with grilled chicken. We meet at noon - my back yard.

It is so hard to keep to a schedule when you are dependent on the weather. Do you take your baby with you on your walks? Future tri-athlete possibly?
